How God even protects us in our sin!
I was just reading Genesis 12 and looking at the story of Abram and Sarai when they went into Egypt and reading matthew Henry's commentary he was talking about how when we assume the worst in someone in this case Pharoh and act upon that assumption then Our actions are then based on fear and not God and his sovereignty. Just the other day I worked out a scenario in my mind preparing for the worst possibility so I could prepare myself for the worst. But in this case and Abram's case we both worked out a scenario that wasn't even going to happen. We should be basing our assumptions as Mr. Henry puts it "Charity teaches us to hope for the best.". I am once again reminded who is completely in control and knows all His creation. God also put plagues in Pharoah's house so he would not take Sarai for his wife. Even in our sin God still protects us. And Pharoah was a little nervous of Abram because who was this man who had favor in a God that would produce plagues? So Pharoah ensured Abrams safe journey home. Which also teaches us that God will protect us even in our sin. What a reassurance we can have in our God. We don't need to fret or worry or produce worse case scenarios in our minds. We can hope for the best, because we have God and all His infinite power and wisdom and sovereignty on our side!
